A better choice for what? Dude, the election was months ago. Obama made it! Where the hell have you been? IMO he would have been a better choice, but unfortunately not everyone thought that.

The OP asked who you would vote for today.
We all know when the election was and who won.
And yes, I would vote for McCain today.
I think his pick as VP ruined his chances and he probably wouldn't make that mistake again today.
He has been around long enough and knows enough about whats going on in the world to make better decisions than some fly by night good talker that has a wife who said "for the first time in my life I am proud to be an American". McCain put too much trust in his advisory team instead of just being himself and going with his own instincts. I think that was apparant by the orchestraded speeches and comments he made.
Well the OP should have worded his question a little better. He should have said, "If the election were held today, do you think McCain would be a better choice"? I'm not a mind reader, how in the hell am I supposed to know what he meant.
And to answer the question YES, I think McCain would have been a better choice......I thought that on election day and my opinion stands today.

I note that you claim to be a "proud gay conservative." Maybe I am mistaken, but I sense in the tone of your words complete disregard for the writer of the OP. Your arrogance won't win any friends and without friends, there will be no convincing of people.
Now, that being said, either way the question is phrased, my simple response would have been, YES. McCain or Hilary would have offered America a better hope for 2020.

Well I sure as hell am not here to make "friends" so your opinion don't mean squat.
Have a nice day!
As my 15 year old daughter observed: At least with McCain, things would have remained the same if not gotten better. With Obama, it will only get worse.

I agree.
Those of us who are old enough to remember inflation understand what getting worse will entail. The young people will soon be learnig a lesson in fiscal conservatism and gain a greater understanding of the reasons for the election results of 1980 and 1984.
