Yeah I don't get it. It is absolutely hilarious. I am not sure why everybody does not find it quite entertaining. Are they embarrassed to have a President that makes us laugh?

I don't really understand how the use of teleprompters or lack there of is a reflection on a person's ability to govern. Being the leader of the free world takes a lot of time and concentration. We don't elect people based on their memorization skills.

I would have said the same thing if Bush were critiscised for using a teleprompter. In fact, for somebody with such a limited grasp on the english language and sentence structure, Bush would be wise to never stray from teleprompter usage.

Obama chooses to use teleprompters when delivering speeches.

He could have read his speeches from index cards like Bush (like that really helped Bush speak well? ) ... but Obama wants to face his audience when he talks.

So I'm not sure what is really funny about it?

To me, it seems more like a joke invented by Republicans, since they can't bash Obama's speaking abilities in the same manner that Democrats could say about Bush.

Bush completely "bastardized" and "mangled" the English language.

It was actually EMBARRASSING to hear OUR PRESIDENT speak in public!

Now the Republicans needed something ... anything .. to use for making fun of Obama ... so they created this "myth" about Obama having a "need" for teleprompters.

And they then spread this "myth" around as much as possible via Fox News and Right Wing blogs, to the point where it became widely known.

And now Republicans are so caught up in this "myth" ... that they actually are believing it to be the truth?

The Republicans really need to get a life ... and stop wasting so much time creating these nonsense based "myths"!

It's no wonder THEY KEEP LOSING ELECTIONS !!!

We get you dislike Republicans, but was double spacing absolutely necessary? In case you have been sleeping for the last 20 years, Democrats know perfectly well how to lose elections.

But he is not "facing" his audience. His little bobble head swivels left, right, left, right, like he is watching a tennis match.

You can't face your audience with index cards?

Lamer than lame.

Guess you haven't seen this video from NBC;

You just have to watch this video - I'm sure you'll get a kick out of it.

I guess he could look directly into the camera and give us the "deer in the headlights look" that Bush was so good at.

I'm glad I don't take such extreme joy in demeaning others, and that most of my happiness is a result of things that are positive.

I'm also glad this forum has an ignore feature. It allows me to only encounter comments like the one above very rarely.
