If by best, you mean best-suited for the inhabitants of a mental ward, or the break room at Wal-Mart, I agree.

I really wonder about liberals/left-wings. Their views are always changing, its (even if their wrong). Liberals are hesitant and second guess their selves all the time.

What I dislike most about Bill Maher and liberals like him is they are not solutionist. They just complain and rant. And that shouldnt be the discourse.

This is disgusting.

I wonder how liberals views will be about Bush and Obama years from now, it could be different. Bush the hero and Obama the enemy? I just hope America is on the right path, I could care less about a president's celebrity/popularity/legacy.

Oh and also, Bill's guest kept ranting that Obama is a socialist-communist. This is an extremely liberal show, so yeah, thats interesting.

Heres a link:

Enough with the Obamathon - Los Angeles Times (http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-maher12-2009jun12,0,7966784.story - broken link)
"solutionist," lol.

His TV show is a panel discussion show, what do you want them to do?

Speaking of disgusting, I cant believe someone doesnt know who that beloved guest was who was "ranting" about Obama being a "socialist/communist."

Liberals arent rigid like reactionaries. They understand that paths wind. Bill M was and is right and true to hold Obama's feet to the fire: in that close you mention he said something about "now we Hope for some Audacity." Yes we do

You think anybody who does not drool over Hussein Obama, belongs in a mental ward.

All i'm saying is Conservatives are more loyal and supportive to their leaders. In addition, I dont think liberals know what they want.

As for P. J. O'Rourke. Satire is not his strong suit. The audience didnt laugh, he was not funny. It was awkward watching him.
Yes, Obama needs to stop being a pleaser and start leading. Not that I want him to become President Cheney or anything ... there has to be a middle ground.

Bill Maher's time has passed. He's been trying to pick up the torch that was dropped when George Carlin died and he's failing miserably. I was a loyal watcher of Real Time, but I recently stopped watching because I'm sick of Maher's mugging for the camera whenever he delivers what is supposed to be a punchline and general hautiness.

PJ likes consider himself a conservative, but conservatives are so extreme now on the social side. One of the best Real Times was when he and Dr. Cornell West were seated next to each other and they actually found a ton of common ground and civilly agreed to disagree with each other on some other topics. It was a beautiful thing to see.

As for conservatives being loyal. Well, maybe. I think the loyalty is bred from mutual Democratic animosity than anything else. I think the conservative movement being lead by Limbaugh, Palin, etc. is alienating a lot of mainstream conservatives (like PJ) who see the conservative movement being taken over by social conservatives who are stuck in an old era that will never be brought back (Reagan is dead folks ... own it and move on). The conservative movement now claims that they don't want government in our pocketbooks ... ok ... but boy to they want to be in our personal lives ... yuck. The Democratic party is much more of a big tent party that the GOP wants to be, but can't ideologically.

In any event, I'll be surprised if HBO re-ups Real Time. It's had a great run, but he seems to be having trouble getting guests.

O'Reilly has gone down hill. He doesn't do interviews anymore, he lectures and yells. He tries to be hip and he's an old coot.

The other two are just pricks. Even my conservative friends are sick of the liberal bashing stchick. There's never any new information on their shows. I never watch Olbermann.

Cable news sux!

Not his 'strong suit'?
Now that is funny!

A previous quote naming P.J. a lifelong
republican was almost as good.

For a million dollars these guys couldn't tell you who P.J. O'Rourke is or what he has done. That comment 'not his strong suit' deserves an award.

Why is Obama constantly on TV, etc.?
Perhaps this guy has the answer:

Quote:
"Everything that the White House does concerning this deep recession contains an element of gambling because no one has been here before," said Robert B. Reich, labor secretary under President Bill Clinton and a professor of public policy at the University of California at Berkeley. "There's no formula that can be applied, and that's why the president's popularity and credibility are vitally important." Concern Over Obama's Spending Plans May Cloud 2010 Election Prospects - washingtonpost.com
Not sure if "no one has been there before" (there have been shaky times in the US) but do think they are aiming to keep Obama well liked by the public, especially since many of his policies are not being well received.
Polls show that Obama is still liked but approval for his economic policies are sliding downward.

Gallup poll June 8:
67% of Americans view President Barack Obama favorably
Only 45% of Americans approve of Obama's handling of federal spending
Only 46% approve of his handling of the federal budget deficit

55% disapprove of the Feds owning GM

64% are dissatisfied with how things are going in the US

Above Gallup poll results found at
Americans’ Satisfaction Plateaus Over the Past Month
Most Disapprove of Majority Government Ownership of GM

PJ *really* didnt look good that night. He has had cancer. He and Bill M appear to be friends, so that's good.
