Except I don't want to leave.

That is the point I was trying to make. I do not want to leave, so I'll try to change the country from within.

I'm glad hes stickin it to all the people who voted for him, and those same people are too conscious of their pride and/or plain dumb to come to that realization. Barry is making a fool out of himself, hes disappointing millions and he is assuring that the Democratic party will be leaving a bad taste in America's mouth after his time in office is up.

Ahhhh its so refreshing to have a liberal that eats his own... especially when they jump right into his mouth.

You will want to leave once your policies are enacted. Actually just wait another year or two and you will get what you want. Then you will want to leave.
You do not even know what you are asking for.

I certainly don't.
Nothing fundamental will change. It would take a revolution. But revolutions aren't exactly fun things. And not going to happen anytime in the near or moderate future. So, I guess we'll stick with the mediocreness we have.
Change, no matter what mainstream politician is promising it, will always be incremental. And noone touting true radical change would be elected. That is the nature of our system for good or bad. Safe and conservative (in the true sense of the word), yet unadaptable.
Also, the president is just one person. Powerful, of course. But not a dictator.

I don't regret my vote so far but I am concerned about the bailouts and the economic future of our country during the next several years. Having said that, I think McCain would have also caved under the pressure to do something. I'm still open-minded and I'm willing to give him a full four years before deciding on whether or not to vote for a re-election. Outside of the bailouts, I very much support what he has done. I think the way he's viewed by the outside world definitely enhances our image and that's what we need right now. He's what a president should be: smart, charismatic, authentic, and articulate.

I do have to say this. I am sick of corporate special interests and lobbyists costing billions in tax dollars and getting legislation passed that has no buisiness getting passed. I am sick of the unfair tax code. I am sick of the inefficient fiscal policies of our political leaders. I am sick of Government interference in our private lives. I am sick of the bailouts and enabling of bad greedy behavior.
I assume most of you are Ralph Nader fans. He does have some valid points but he is too extreme on other issues such as completely decimating the military budget and labor. But I can say at this point he would do better then any Neocon or neoliberal (aka Democrats or Republicans) that currently inhabit Washington.
My party of choice though is libertarian.

I think in the 2012 we have to step all the way outside of the box. Vote for anti-lobby/outside party. We should be in a system where Obama would be considered the conservative and far right. So we can have someone who is truly left debate with him on the issues.

I'm not saying I regret voting for Obama. I just hope that politics change. The same way bad businesses like Circuit City and Sbarro are gone, I want the Republican party gone. It should be Democrats vs. Greenparty/Independent.

If its still that Dem vs. Republican model in the next election i'll probably be apathetic.
That isnt going to happen because this country leans right and gallup new poll shows that 40% are republican while only 21% say they are liberal

By all means, I wish that we did have more "socialistic tendencies" like the European countries (France, Norway, etc.). But I still love living in the US, and I also don't have the funds to move out of the States. So, I'll try to change the policies from within.
How can you love living in America but want to change what America is and has stood for? If you prefer that America is like Europe then you should go to Europe.
