I don't know exactly, and that's an interesting topic. However, don't we live in America where warlords don't kill you for your possessions?

Why yes we do! However, this mentality of government not intervening is what goes on in places like that. Doesn't seem to help the starvation problem, does it?

This nation was founded by a constitution which established a basic set of laws prohibiting arbitrary individuals from stealing your property. IMHO, it's absurd to believe anyone who is against government intervention to help starving people is necessarily in favor of anarchy. This nation did quite well for over a century and a half without massive subsidies towards starving individuals.

Additionally, the government is usually directly involved with these warlords. In this country, lobbyists and institutions such as the Federal Reserve are the warlords.

The starving individuals didnt do so well, though.

Ever wonder why the rise in popularity of gated communities since the Bush years began?

I suspect that like Cynthia, you'd prefer massive subsidies for better-off people...people who deserve massive subsidies...nice people, like "us".....

I never implied that. Charities have been known to pick up the slack.

What makes you believe I prefer subsidies for well off people? Quite the contrary. Have any of my previous posting suggested this attitude?

As a couple of other posters pointed out...the starving didn't do too well...but don't let that bother ya.
