ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Gov. Sarah Palin has paid more than $8,100 to reimburse Alaska for the costs associated with nine trips taken with her children.
Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, says the governor paid $8,143.62 to the state on June 19 for the nine trips, some with more than one of her five children, taken between January 2007 and February of this year. The payment was due Tuesday.
An ethics complaint had alleged Palin abused her power by charging the state when her children traveled with her.
In all, Palin has charged the state $21,012 for her three daughters' 64 one-way and 12 round-trip commercial flights since she took office in December 2006.
Guess what, Jenny, she's not the POTUS.
The governor of Alaska is apparently not permitted to take family on trips on the state dime.
Did your wonderful Bushie pay for all of his family trips, to England to see the queen, etc?
I think not.
How quickly you forget that Obama is doing nothing illegal with his trips, and neither was Bush.
Does Obama pay for all his family when he hauls them off to France, England, etc for lunch? I don't recall that issue ever being brought up.
No and I would not expect him to. I was not upset with his costly date trips, it's part of the job. But as you can see some here have two standards, one for a politician with an R after their name and one for the Ds. The ones with the D can do anything and they don't seem to care. As long as their team wins, they really don't much care if the country suffers.
