You are so correct, my friend. We are still in South Korea and Germany and we will still be in Iraq 50 years from now.

What ... exactly ... is the point?

The point is that we were lied to.

We were told that we were only going into Iraq to get rid of a bad guy. We were told that we were going to set up a democracy and then get out. We were told that this had nothing to do with the fact that Iraq has the second largest proven oil deposits had nothing to do with why we went into Iraq.

The point is that we were lied to.

You are correct. We are not going anywhere for a very long time.

Now I suppose you'll say, "Yeah, we were lied to. What exactly is your point? Politicians lie all the time."

The point is that it stinks. Bush lied. Obama lied and continues to lie. It stinks. Why can't anyone tell me the truth? Everyone has an agenda and they all lie.

It used to amaze me as I couldn't believe that the people who were saying things actually believed what they were saying. I came to realize that they really don't believe what they say. They think that I'm stupid enough to believe them and that made me angry. Then I got scared because I came to realize that most of us are that stupid and we do believe the lies. Its real scary!

You were not lied to. You were just recently told by the media that US troups have left the cities.
They didn't leave the country, they LEFT THE CITIES. They are now stationed at the edge of the cities but they are not gone. If I remember correctly 2011 is when they come home.

Where is the "lied to" ?

This is what I'm going to say.
If you make poor choices we live with them.
Iraq was a bad decision not because we went to war, but because we believed in changing the world via nation building.
I have noticed most of the wars we get into are bad decisions and we just keep making them. Bosnia, Somila, etc If our liberty and our constitution is not under threat no reason to enter a war. We are not policeman of the world and anyone who put that hat on should take it off. We are 11 trillion in debt, the world or find it's own way let us be the guiding light off freedom but not the hammer that everyone must bow too.
