Simple question. Is it Obama's actions and policies since taking office that have brought the stock market up from its lowest close of around 6550?

I would say his policies no...his actions of doing his big talk and traders speculating and getting caught up in it, yes. People bought into his talk and hence people felt better about the economy. We'll see what happens the last half of this year how many more people are out of a job.

The happy talk about 'green shoots' from the Prez, Geithner and the Fed has re-assured the public that the recession is behind us, and the public are as gullible as hell, as we all know.

Yes, because starting in the spring the financials were propped up relentlessly to avoid a crash.

It went up in spite of him... Really very few of his projects have even hit, besides him giving my money to massive banks. If getting the Dow above 7000 requires me to give up my hard earned money to the banks, I don't want it above 7000. I'll take my freedom above Citi's profits any day.

You might still have your job because of this admin's efforts toward cleaning up the financial crisis.

What projects of his havent hit? Have come to their conclusions already and can be judged failures? He's only been in office six months.

Dropping bankrupt (but still existing) companies from the dow and replacing them with smaller, more profitable ones had a lot to do with raising the number. Giving away trillions of dollars to already insanely rich bankers made their day too. Yay! problem solved!? Thanks Obama! (and Bush)...
