Cover for Pelosi.

How wise is it to disparage the CIA in such a political fashion? They are going to try to absolve themselves for their culpability in the Iraq war by denigrating the good people of the CIA.

Shameful.

I would imagine you will start seeing some leaking - a little payback for the dems/libs and their loyalty.

Hey! Wait a minute!

If they've been supposedly lying since 2001, that means they also lied to the bush administration regarding WMD and other intelligence....right?

This is just cover for Pelosi, not specific enough to really say anything, but enough red meat for partisan democrats to find a reason to back off from Pelosi's melt down a while back. And it will keep the fire burning for the "Bush lied, and people died" crowd.
Let the investigations begin. It all is beginning to make sense now. The "i's" have been dotted and the "t's" crossed.

Anyone really surprised that the CIA's job is to deceive? Anyone?

Panetta is even deceiving the People now, in order to deflect the heat away from the most confused female on the planet....Pelosi!

Panetta Orders Probe of Secret Spy Program | Newsweek Nation | Newsweek.com

Quote:
Panetta orders internal probe of secret spy program after some members of Congress say CIA misled them.
Quote:
CIA and congressional officials have refused to describe the nature of the covert program, but insisted it is not connected to the CIA's use of controversial "enhanced" interrogation techniques.
Why does your thread title say it is?

Quote:
But the program's existence erupted into a major political dispute Wednesday night when seven Democrats on the House intelligence committee released a letter charging that the agency had "concealed significant actions" and "misled" members of Congress by failing to inform the oversight committees about the program until last month.
What a dishonest and misleading title.

Quote:
One question Congressional Democrats still want answered: was the program an idea CIA officials had just talked about as a possibility, or had they actually put it into operation? If it was just talk, as some in the intelligence community insist, the argument could be made that there was no requirement to notify Congress.
Sounds like the dems/libs might have jumped the gun by playing politics with the men and women who keep this country safe.

CIA Spat: Pelosi Vindicated? Not Quite - The Note

Quote:
"In light of your testimony, we ask that you publicly correct your statement of May 15, 2009," the Democrats wrote Panetta.

No dice.

"Director Panetta stands by his May 15 statement," says CIA spokesman George Little. "It is not the policy or practice of the CIA to mislead Congress. This Agency and this Director believe it is vital to keep the Congress fully and currently informed. Director Panetta's actions back that up. As the letter from these six representatives notes, it was the CIA itself that took the initiative to notify the oversight committees."

According to an intelligence official familiar with the briefing, Panetta never said the CIA misled Congress.
As you can see by how quick the dems were to demand Panetta retrack his statement, it is clear they are playing politics and trying desperately to cover for the hag.

What I don't get is that it's the CIA's raison d'etre to lie and be devious ... I mean, these folks topple governments ...

The CIA is not in the spotlight as much as Pelosi.
They vindicated her and will take the heat for a day or two and it will all be forgotten.
Pelosi walks away clean as a whistle.

"Blame it on Bush" is becoming the mantra for this administration.

Do you think they could get 2nd terms based on that ?

I'm sure, after 8 years of Clinton, and Bush not replacing anyone in the CIA, the democrat loyalists, who were still fuming from the "stolen election" in Florida, just rolled over for Bush. ROFL
