AS a traditional Democrat of two decades (1972-1992) who WAS (note tense) involved in the party, I can say without hesitation that I now vote Green/Socialist/independent, as there are only inconsequential differences betwixt the Democratic and Republican Parties in their present forms.

Both are owned by Corporate America.

Both represent money, not people.

Amen,

The people who I would consider voting for are treated as freaks or too extreme (Dennis Kucinich, Russ Feingold, Ron Paul) and will never be elected.

We are now a corporatist/fascist country

I'm the same way.Real change means people will have to think outside the 2 party box.

I vote for the person NOT the party. I am a registered Republican but have voted Dem before not often since most Dems do not stand for what I believe but I always listen to both sides.

I don't vote based on party and am not a member of either. I've voted for Dems and Republicans. I'm really not a fan of either party and would love to see a viable third party. Under the current system, politicians think about their own re-election first, to that end towing the party line, then bashing the other party etc.

Which ever one offers as close to this as possible.
-Small gov
-Less taxes I have to pay
-Who knows they work for us
-Who isnt going to waste our tax dollars, Someone that will be accountable
-Someone that will not matter what protect our rights and not try and make new ones up let that go to the state

I am sure I can add more to that list but thats the short version

I dont vote on abortion issues because I dont think its going to ever be over turned.

I dont vote on the death penality because I think that is a states rights issue.

It is not that a 3rd party is promised to be better, they could turn out to be even more of a tyrant,it is that the big 2 need to have their tree shaken.

There are certainly 3rd parties that I think would be harmful to America,in my case any Neo Nazi or Communist party would never get my vote.Any extreme left or right party are only interested in special interests and don't respect liberty for everybody.
