You have professors, police and judges and most of all politicians who think the world revolves around them and whatever they think or say is correct. Then they get their egos bruised and they go off in a tantrum and scream and cry. Everybody acted badly, the police( short tempered but not a racist), the professor( a pompous ass who only sees racial issues) and now Obama( spouting off foolishly and creating further racial tensions).
"George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and a few other Presidents stood by and allowed other Americans to be enslaved. Were they President of ALL Americans or just one group of Americans?"
Slavery was legal and protected under the Constitution. What laws were broken.
Um, he stated clearly that, based on what little he knew of the incident, the cops acted stupidly. Obama should have known that question was a trap. The only correct answer was to say that he didn't know enough about the incident to make a comment. That was a pretty major screw up, and now we have a new right wing folk hero, James the Cop.
I happen to think the cop acted stupidly even when all the facts are known. Gates broke no law, but was placed under arrest. That is pretty stupid.
The dumbing of America, and you're a willing participant. Once and for all, Gates WAS NOT arrested for breaking into his own home. Ding Dong WAS arrested for disorderly conduct (that's what happens when you yell and scream at a police officer for doing his job, and in the process, attract a crowd of onlookers as a result of your behavior). Uh, is there anything else I need to explain to you, such as, what happens when you stick a fork into an electrical socket, or, step out into traffic????
The police can hold a person suspect or accuse him of acting in an unlawful manner without the charges sticking once he's released. I'm sure after the Cambridge police found out his buddy is the Prez, they just wanted this whole thing to go away.
Should he have been arrested? Maybe not. But Obama should have stopped at "I don't know all the details...." or said "IF what my friend told me is an accurate account, then the police might have overreacted, but it would be wrong for any president to criticize a local police department before there's a complete investigation into the incident."
He hadn't even read the police report.
Still - he did not call them "stupid." He said they behaved stupidly. If you are a parent I'm sure you explain to your child that she is never bad, but some of her behavior is. You don't say to your spouse "I hate you" but rather "I really hated what you did today." I am not defending Obama here, just clarifying what he said.
Thanks for the clarification. A new job awaits you on the Obama team, the office of, "I Didn't Say That, I Meant This." Your comment is stupid; you commented stupidly.
Since anyone with a brain, and a video monitor can tell that this entire thread is based on a LIE by the OP, why is this thread not flagged as trolling?
