(CNSNews.com) - Americans who consider themselves conservatives now outnumber Americans who consider themselves liberal by almost two to one, according to a new poll by the Washington Post and ABC News.

In the poll of 1,001 adults conducted between July 15-18, respondents were asked: “Would you say your views on most political matters are liberal, moderate, or conservative?”

That's funny, they didn't seem to out number them in the last two elections.

Did you look at the numbers? Not a lot of change throughout the length of time given... Who won the General Election? That's all what counts to me.

Gosh people need to understand something.

Liberals did not elect Obama.

It was the central line, independent and left side conservatives that elected Obama. They was willing to give Obama a chance because he seemed to good to be true to them.

Then they found out the huge mistake they made.

Most Americans are conservative by nature and will normally go after the person or persons who can make things better and will cross party lines to do so. While most liberals would never cross party lines even if they have to vote for a much lesser candidate.

With the majority being conservative by nature people are getting very tired of the massive spending for nothing that Obama is doing.

That's funny? I find it disturbing that as a percentage of possible voters the actual turnout was down from 2004 by a small %.

Am I the only one that noticed this.

In the poll of 1,001 adults conducted between July 15-18...

And this,
Since Obama became President = 2% decline for Liberal and 1% increase for conservatives.

Date Liberal Moderate Conservative
12/14/08 22% 37% 37%
7/18/09 20% 39% 38%

Yea, sure, and thats why the very conservative republicans have lost the last 2 elections and been swept out of congress.

You cant poll 1000 people in a nation of 300 million people and expect an accurate answer. A direction, maybe, but an accurate answer? No way.

:removed because of bad math:

Also, did the creator of the threat read the linked poll, or did he stop after hearing '2 to 1' conservatives?

For a bunch (or a very small number) of self proclaimed conservatives they sure seem to be in support of a so-called liberal democrat president. It seems conservatives cannot win for losing!
