It's hard to really say he's been clear on it when he qualified the comment about funding the healthcare plan by saying that he will not support a plan that's "primarily funded" by the taxing the middle class. It seems that those in the administration that spoke over the weekend were consistent with that message, just not consistent with the campaign message or the current one.
"Those in the administration" were Tim Geithner. He answered George Stephanopoulos three times, honestly. But you all like to believe that Tim lies, right?
None of my business, but 13,000 a year in property tax, 1100/month, say a 3000/month mortgage for a house you REALLY want to own, that sounds proportionate.
My property taxes are $13,000 per year and my home is about 2400 sq ft far from a huge house.

I can't speak for whoever "you all" is, but what did I say about Geithner lying?
Maybe they could sacrifice a little and pay the tax guy to help them hide their true incomes from Uncle Barack. In fact I'll bet 2011 will be a BONANZA year for tax advisors.
Hiding income isn't something that can be done for the average corporate worker.
I've known people who honestly believe there are ALL KINDS OF WAYS to legally "cheat" the system (remember the "home office" deduction?)...but when they themselves look into it they find that there really is no place to hide for the average tax payer.

That's how tax advisors and accountants and financial planners make their livings. And $250K+ earners are the top 5% of earners in the US, theyre not "the average tax payer."
I'll take a page from the Bill Clinton playbook: What's the definition of "is"?
Trivial? Nope, not at all. There is a huge difference between: "....the President's clear COMMITMENT IS NOT to raise taxes on those making less than $250,000 a year,'' and "the President WILL NOT raise taxes on those making less than $250,000 a year."

Yes indeed, there is a difference.
He's committed to it. They know they're out in 2010 and -12 if they cant stick to it. Believe me, they'll stick to it.
Oh, okay, sorry rggr. Im glad you dont mistrust Geithner.
I'm not a fan of Geithner, but I didn't say he lied and I'm not sure how my opinion on him is relevant to the topic. The OP was saying that Obama has been clear. I was saying that the responses over the weekend were consistent with what he said in the press conference and not with some of is other statements. I was saying that Obama has not been particularly clear. I said nothing about Geithner lying - or at all.

I know, but since Geithner was the only one who spoke this weekend, and you were giving credence to what "those in the administration" said this weekend, I said I was pleased that you give credence to Geithner. Thazz all.
