Fair enough. Actually, I heard Larry Summers. I read about Geithner later. I didn't intend to give credence to anyone in particular, but it was what they said that triggered Gibbs to make his comments. I was responding to his assertion that Obama has been clear.

Isn't there endless threads by you guys saying that people CHOOSE to buy a house they don't need, or live a life they can't afford? Now you are defending it.

What?

I am talking about how $250,000 is not rich if you live in the Northeast and you transform that in your mind to not being able to afford my house.

White House: Middle-class taxes out: The Swamp
I don't believe Obama for one minute that he is not going to raise taxes on the middle class. How stupid does he think we are?

Maybe not income tax but they will raise taxes in a roundabout way. They have no choice. It is simple math, you cannot spend as much as they are and recieve as little revenue they recieve during this reccesion. But most people are not smart enough to see that, so believe what you want.

He's commited to it so he can get elected again? Doesn't sound like change to me. What about if he is elected again? Will he still be commited to it?

Since he was voted in, I would say he has a pretty good handle on that question.

Read my lips "No New Taxes"....yeah right.

Either Obama is forced to raise taxes before the elections and they are out, or somehow they cook the books and raise taxes after the elections. Either way they WILL raise taxes on the middle class.

How else will they pay for this ORGY of spending? Washington has created a bubble in the federal spending that is going to burst soon.

A senator said: "You cannot decrease healthcare cost at the same time you are increasing coverage. It's an oxymoron".

Obama knows he CAN NOT do the things he is doing without taxing everybody who pays taxes. If he really does think that, then our country is in much more trouble than I could have ever imagined.
