Why are we here? During the short time on this earth, has it ever crossed you mind as to why you were born, why you're alive and if your life has any meaning?
What is your purpose in life? What do you think is the main reason you are on this earth, and how do you feel about it? Because I do not want to taint this thread, I will wait 'til later to share my thoughts.
We are all here for the purpose of trying to figure out the riddle of whether we have a purpose or not. And in Part-2, whether it would make one bit of difference in the way you lived your life if we didn't...
Hoosier, my friend, you cannot taint this thread. I think hermits, monks and many other wise men and women have sat and contemplated this question might have something to share with us on the subject, eh? So many wise men are out there and here we are posting like we know something!
My godfather says its to love and to serve Christ and show your worthiness to go to heaven.
I have learned it is wiser to keep my mouth shut and learn something. So, I will also hold my counsel.
I believe God created us as expression of His love. He chose to create us and we are valuable in His eyes. I believe we are reflections of His glory created in His image. Jeremiah 29:11 " For I know the plans I have you declares the Lord, they are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope".
I love that verse, it tells me I am not an accident, I am here for a reason. God's ultimate goal is to make us more like Him. God has a plan and a purpose for our lives and I don't think we can ever feel fulfilled or at peace until we are walking in His will. When I lost my job in 2004 this I knew it would be ok, God allowed it because it was part of the plan He has for my life.
We are here out of a well-intended but faulty creative effort. In order to get back to the source, we have to be as non-harmful to it as possible. So we are born many times to experience all aspects of life and therefore have a pretty much across-the-board empathy for all situations and all creatures.
God created the universe and everything in it, I think, because he had so much love for mankind before we were created that he wanted us to have everlasting life in a perfect paradise We disobeyed his command and became aware of evil. We were lost and our purpose was to regain the paradise we once had. God still loved us, because he has no hate in him. He sent his son to lead us back to Gods love and his purpose for us. His son gave us the command to love one another , and to follow the instructions he gave us through himself and the apostles after him. Our purpose now is simply to follow the instructions Christ and the apostles gave us.
IMO, "It's a Wonderful Life" is very true. We can have an effect/influence on somebody's life whether we realize it or not. We're all "tools" in The Scheme of Things. And we've probably all had (or been) Clarences whether we recognized it or not.
