If you read the various Internet news websites belonging to the mainstream media you would think the entire problem with poor Van Jones is that the unfortunate man, bullied by non-primetime Glenn Beck, accidently signed a 9-11 Truther petition and called Republicans a bad name. Sometimes they would mention he has made other "unforunate" comments in the past but they don't mention the comments were racist or that the man made statemnts about being a Communist. Even Fox News didn't mention it on Bret Baier's show yesterday. I mean, COME ON, this stuff is out there in Van Jones' own words either on video or in print. The one thing you can't accuse the man of is being secretive in his past about what he believed in. Is it okay now to be a racist and a Communist and work in the White House but not okay to call the Republicans a bad name?
None in the media, of what I saw, shed any light on why THEY didn't discover these things about Jones, on their own.
And NOW that the Jones background is out of the bag, they are starting to report that DUH! that huge White House questionnaire of 63 questions and 7 pages long wasn't given to Jones to complete/that he wasn't as vetted as others. How much you want to bet the whole thing is dropped and no one, except Beck, actually extends this "investigation" to the other Presidential advisors.
What the heck is the matter with the media? There was a time, a number of decades ago, where there was a lot of pride in being an investigative reporter. Now it seems, they all want to grow up and be opinion jockeys.
Beyond the fact that many other media outlets are extremely liberal and go out of their way to protect Obama, I'll tell you exactly what happened. Most of what Glenn Beck found out about Van Jones was his racist attitude and his racist rants. Nobody wanted to touch this including the rest of Fox. People get villified for talking about racial issues especially when the person they are talking about is black. It wasn't until Glenn Beck found something non-racial, i.e. the 9/11 petition, that the rest of the media picked up on it.
