To sanrene-It is ok. I was just like "wow..where did Sanrene get those stats from?" and in return...MEOW!

Its cool!

But overall, I am ashamed that these people who voted against gay marriage call themselves liberal.

I wouldn't wait around for the cowards to admit it though.
Who are the "cowards"? And why do you call them that?

I would like to note that 59% of Latinos under 30 voted against the ban. It's further evidence that it's only a matter of time before the ban is reversed.

While you might be ashamed, you shouldn't be surprised. They are just taking their cue from the most powerful liberal on the planet; President Obama. He has stated publicly that he is against gay marriage.

They may have been "taking their cue" from Obama, but Obama did announce that he was against Prop. 8.

Obama opposes proposed ban on gay marriage

I certainly can say they were, and I can back it up. His position on Prop 8 was that it was constitutionally unnecessary. He never campaigned agaisnt it. At the same time, he continually reiterated his position against gay marriage. California liberals heard their hero, now President Obama, say that he was agaisnt gay marriage, and they took their cue from him, voting agasint gay marriage.

Bill, that's simply not true. Most Democrats and independents voted against the ban. Yes, blacks voted for the ban, but "liberals" and Democrats are comprised of much more than just the black population.

In fact, of the 26% of the electorate in California who called themselves "liberals", 78% of them voted against the ban.
