Actually they didn't. I think they are being cowardly. Come out in favor of Obama's idea (because there is no plan) and see how their members react.
They will know how this member reacted when they send their letter for renewal and get my words back. They won't like them and they won't be spending any more of my money, ever again.

Can any of you read? No plans. No bills. Proposals.
What was it that the CEO of AARP said over three weeks ago about supporting this pile of Pelosi the House has been talking about. I saw him siding with them right there on my TV and said at that minute I would never renew with them again. All the waffling by them won't convince me about them, ever again.
Obama has the ok from AMA, also, but he doesn't have the ok of many of the members of AMA. They may lose as many members as the AARP will over this crap.
Those who can read the writing on the wall know full well that we need health care reform, and they know full well that it has to go along the lines that this now months-long debate has been going in. Only disconnected fantasizers are not in the mix on this...
That number of members is not right as they had it about one more than they will have at the end of this month. My subscription runs out then and there won't be a renewal. I think that AARP will be very surprised at the number of former members that didn't renew. I know of none who are going that way.
The bosses of AARP don't feel the way most of the members do and they will find huge numbers of losses of members.
Heaven forbid someone else is old enough to qualify when your subscription runs out..heck, maybe two someone's....
As a politically astute powerhouse I bet AARP understands how many future "potential" members will remember and understand their clout in helping get this bill done while representing their interests, and I have no doubt they will remind them of it.

You know what i mean, of course their is no bill.... yet, but they are choosing to endorse Pelosi's senate plan, which, for intense will be the bill they will be voting on, and the one the president has been claiming is his plan.
Well the Republicans are on board for reform too and they don't support any of the 5 bills in congress. Their position is the same as AARP.
LOL! They don't know what their position is. They're still trying to figure out what that ridiculous 4-page outline meant anyway. Okay, three and a half pages...almost...

I don't know anyone who does not think we need some reforms to bring down the costs of health care, let's start with TORT reform. Of course that will never happen, the lawyers have the democrats in their back pocket.
I think you will find the backlash is against the AARP from it's members.
