Looks like obama's pay Czar has given the okay for the new CEO of AIG to receive a $7m salary. Most of that money belongs to obama-oops- the American people.
Aside from that, we may have to provide health care to millions of illegals-oops- people that are here and can't afford it.
Obama is very generous with money we don't have. Didn't he say we were out of money?
The American people have to cut cost here, cut cost there, but hey, let's help spread the wealth!

It is ironic how all the liberal democrats now support corporate welfare.

They cringe yell and scream when corporate tax cuts are discussed but when Obama hands them our money it is no problem.

The followers of Barack Obama are blind political hacks: case closed.

Just an aside, but prior to the bail-out the last CEO that worked the full year was in 2007, for over twice the pay of their new CEO. And the new CEO is partly being paid in stock, and is fully aware that the compensation is subject to "clawbacks".

I wouldnt take that job, not even for $7M... The man running that company deserves more, a lot more.. And if you think otherwise, you truly have no knowledge of how vast and how complicated that job would entail..

It's ironic how all the rightists support corporate welfare by insisting that more money go to the CEOs by taking away more from the people who paid for the services they may or may not get.

They cringe, yell, and scream when a penny goes to the poor but love the idea that 1/3 of their pay goes/will go right into the pockets of Insurance CEOs.

The Worshippers of the Wealthy are blind political hacks used and abused by the wealthy they adore more than their god.

Nonsense!
Nobody is worth that kind of money! Not the Joint Chief of Staff who has a huge responsibility over an amazingly complex organization. Neither the CIA and FBI directors, nor the troops commanders in Iraq who risk their lives every minute.
The CEO is not doing it by himself. AIG is a very large operation which is run by teams of managers! Basically its a teamwork.
But America, who is sold on superstars, developed this culture of the lone leader at the top who bears it all. Its just nonsense.
Success is such position is a result of many factors. A manager making $70M a year isn't necessary better or more successful then one who's making only $7M. Even if you raise the CEO's pay 10 fold, it doesn't mean he will work 10 times better. Overall its a false American conception and a distortion of reality.
And I am convinced that even if you limit their salary at $1M or lower, many talented managers will still take the job. They aren't doing it only for the money, but are motivated by the challenge and power that come with such positions.

Spoken like someone who has never successfully run an enormous corporation.

If it were as easy as you say, every company would become wildly successful with just a few "talented managers".

The real world is a bit different. Some can do it. Some can't. Those that can get paid very well. Those that can't find something else to do.

Let's see... You get paid $7 M without proving one thing... it must be nice to START a job with $7 M... isn't it nice? After all, this guy was RETIRED before he started... was he earning $7 M a year on retirement? Give me $5 M and I would come out of retirement... pathetic how the liberals legitimize things...

Absolutely not! They continue being paid enormous sums of money as in the case of bankrupt (or almost bankrupt) companies which the government bailed out. Their executives still fighting (and getting) bonuses from the bailout money. They move from one company to another - Homedepot to Chrysler, Boeing to Ford, and the money keeps coming. They aren't going anywhere, but are here to stay.

The man receives $3.5M without proving a think, he gets another $3.5M for job performance..

There is a reason why you were not offered the job, I would assume you lack the qualifications..
