Of course it enters the picture. People have been classified, in this modern liberal society, to insist everyone be labeled, catorgized and placed in a box by how they like their sex or how they identify their sex, heterosexual, homosexual, bi-sexual, metro sexual, ubersexual, retrosexual, omnisexual, montisexual, polysexual, snag, lesbian, gay and straight I am sure there are more out there.

I identify pedophiles with categories of what kind of child they are attracted to raping. Homosexual pedophiles (man/boy), heterosexual pedophiles (man/girl), pedophiles (any child male or female). All are criminal but there are those that are trying to make this legal also.

No it does not, an adult wanting sex with a child is CRIMINAL! PERIOD!!

There's no difference if it's man/boy, man/girl, woman/boy, or woman/girl.

Your bias is all too evident, why is it you identify homosexual pedophiles as only man/boy? Do you really believe woman/girl doesn't occur?

I do not have a problem in the world with people of different races being together. It takes the lowliest of people to use those born with handicaps or deformities to try and justify your position. Someone’s race or infirmity has nothing to do with homosexuality. They are not common in any way shape or form.

As far as pedophiles go, the heterosexual population is vast compared to the gay population so their numbers would appear greater. Once you do the percentages, among the gay population, gay child molesters are greater.

Where did you get those statistics, because everywhere I've seen and heard children are actually safer around gay people? I myself was molested by two men, neither of which were gay by the way.

But, let's go back to the subject which I guess is the rejection of same-sex dating at school events. Someone posted that because it's a private school, they can make the rules. I agree with that to some extent, but, there are countless situations where a private club/organization limits membership for what could only be described as discriminatory, prejudiced reasons: all-male clubs that excluded women, organizations that excluded Jews and blacks, etc.

Here we have a Catholic school practicing what I consider to be blatant discrimination and using its religion (and its exemption from state laws forbidding discrimination) to hide behind. Citigirl worries about the other students' exposure to two gay people at the prom. My opinion is that if those fellow 18-year old students can't handle the presence of two gay individuals, they need to stay in school for another year.

Tolerance of homosexuality isn't promotion of homosexuality, as much as social conservatives would like everyone else to believe. The world will not collapse and those other 18-year olds won't be corrupted if two gay people decide to enjoy the prom just like everyone else does. It's their right.

It's a Catholic school. Why should the entire religion bend to one student?

Out of curiosity... why do you post all these news stories? Are you using feedback for some sort of research?

You're asking where the right of two people who love each other and want to attend a party together comes from? Are you implying that someone should determine who attends a party and who doesn't based on certain prejudices? Because if that's the case, those prejudices will be out for all to see, and open to criticism.

Off topic rant: You know, after all the eloquently written and well thought out comments I've posted, I'd sure like someone to respond in kind. Last month someone responded to my 400 word explanation with only 2 words, both of which failed to address anything I brought up. Either written discourse is in serious decline or people are just getting lazy. End of rant. I'm going to bed now.
