Kennedy embodies everything you say you hate in the political class, usually the republican political class. But since he is a liberal, he gets a free pass.

Most politicians, regardless of their political leanings, I will feel a degree of sympathy for, if they are in sickness, or deceased. However, with the passing of this bloated scumbag, I feel no such pity. The Chappaquidick incident is only the most palpable of his indiscretions. However, his other transgressions are vast, and it speaks to the number of character flaws this man exhibited. If he were contrite about them in his waning years, I'd still have a cintilla of pity. He never showed them. Put his name in with Chris Dodd into Google, along with the word "sandwich". Tell me what you find.

Does anyone else here realize that after the Chappaquidick incident, he even attempted to coerce his cousin, Joe Gargan, into saying that he was in the car instead of "The Swimmer", the following morning? After 2 hours, Gargan held fast, and told Kennedy to call Kopechne's mother. By the way, he hadn't called anyone at that point, not the cops, no one. How bereft of character must one be to a) try to get someone else to say they drove the car and b) not make so much as one phone call until 9 hours after the incident had occurred? Not to mention the fact he was with an unmarried woman while his pregnant wife was at home?

I have never seen anyone hate the way that certain atheist hate Christians. Thread after thread after thread....no matter what the subject matter is... some people feel it necessary to turn the thread into "I hate Christians" thread. It gets very tiresome and says a lot more about the posters than it does about Christians.
There is a responsibility that goes along with declaring yourself "Christian" before you make any statement..............that's why it's so annoying to read posts full of hate, the exact OPPOSITE of what their Christ was, which are made by those claiming "authority" because they are a "Christian."
Ted Kennedy was tasteless and stupid...along with a pathetic liar, a lawbreaker, a drunkard, a fat slob, and a married womanizer. Those attributes make him pretty damn tasteless and stupid to me! The scumbag should have died from his own drunken puke on July 18, 1969.
