Dueling 'racist' claims defuse once powerful word - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090917/ap_on_re_us/us_crying_racism - broken link)

Everybody's racist, it seems.

Republican Rep. Joe Wilson? Racist, because he shouted "You lie!" at the first black president. Health care protesters, affirmative action supporters? Racist. And Barack Obama? He's the "Racist in Chief," wrote a leader of the recent conservative protest in Washington.

But if everybody's racist, is anyone?

The word is being sprayed in all directions, creating a hall of mirrors that is draining the scarlet R of its meaning and its power, turning it into more of a spitball than a stigma.

"It gets to the point where we don't have a word that we use to call people racist who actually are," said John McWhorter, who studies race and language at the conservative Manhattan Institute.

The cry of racist was always used by the left to stop conversation. Now that we have a racist in the white house it will not be as useful to them

History will show that there definitely was lots of racism by whites opposed to this President. No matter how many times and regardless of how many ways some people try to deny the reality of what is happening in this country right now, you cannot turn a lie into truth.

Racist?
Prove it...

On the other hand, if you oppose being compelled to labor for the benefit of another, whether by private or public coercion, you're more in harmony with abolitionists and anti-slavery proponents.

It would be ironic that descendants of slaves would advocate indentured servitude under restrictive socialism.

Just say "NO" to Socialism...

I totally disagree. History will show this is the worst and most corrupt president we have ever had and a stain on this country. He sucks up to our enemies and throws are friends to the wolves, leaving us more vunerable then any time in modern history.
