According to Phoenix police, Kurt Aho, 64, learned Tuesday that someone had bought his home at an auction. Hours later, the new owners appeared at his front door, pushing Aho over the edge.

"This didn't need to happen," said Tammy Aho. "I think the only thing that meant anything to him was his home where he's lived for 30 years and that was taken from him. He didn't know what else to do ."

Investigators said when officers arrived at Aho's north Phoenix Tuesday afternoon, Aho was in front of his house with a beer in one hand and gun in the other.
