I don't see any news stories about it. Are you sure they weren't just kidding?

If it's a serious possibility, there would be at least one news story about it somewhere.

True, but at least MSNBC doesn't go on touting they're "fair and balanced", give me a break FN.

Obviously in the very early stages, but CNBC thought enough of the specter to at least mention it. I'd say they have some inside knowledge of the possible deal, considering NBC Universal is their parent company.

UPDATE 2-GE to have right to sell stake in new NBC venture | Reuters

"Rupert Murdoch's News Corp (NWSA.O) and John Malone's Liberty Media Corp (LINTA.O) are also interested in NBC Universal, though neither has approached GE so far, CNBC reported, citing sources."

Trust me, neither Maddow or Olbermann -- or Matthews or Shultz or, probably, Scrarborough or Brzezinski or anyone else at MSNBC -- would work for Murdoch.

It apparently isn't all bull but very unlikely.

UPDATE 2-GE to have right to sell stake in new NBC venture | Reuters

Rupert Murdoch's News Corp (NWSA.O) and John Malone's Liberty Media Corp (LINTA.O) are also interested in NBC Universal, though neither has approached GE so far, CNBC reported, citing sources.

News Corp, which owns the Fox cable network and local TV stations, had been seen as a less likely bidder, analysts have said, because taking a stake in NBC might raise antitrust concerns with the U.S. government.

Thanks for that. It sounds like it's not very likely to happen.

I wouldn't count your chickens before they hatch. CNBC, owned by NBC Universal, mentioned that Murdoch is interested. See the above link.

First result will be an increase in MSNBC's viewership by 100x.

I can see now, a discussion panel with Brit Hume, Charles Krauthammer, Kieth Olbermann, and Juan Williams. Olbermann will look like a punching-bag dummy with too many leaks.

Don't forget making all the female news anchors bleach blond their hair and make them all wear little revealing dresses.

....and wear lots of make-up, lick their lips and look into the camera with that "**** me" look. Or is that just the one I keep seeing?
