Mm, mm, mm! Way to go, congress!

Study finds $2.6 billion taken from guns and ammunition

Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis.

Among the 778 such projects, known as earmarks, packed into the bill: $25 million for a new World War II museum at the University of New Orleans and $20 million to launch an educational institute named after the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat.
A museum I can deal with, after all, the service members who survived WWII, and who survive today should be thanked every day. And what is going to be taught at an educational institute named for Teddy, how to drive across a dam at O-dark-thirty while sloshed, with some sweet young thing who isn't your wife? At the rate these clowns are depleted and destroying our military strengths, hell, won't be any need for another country, say Iran or Russia, or a group such as osama's goons to ever raise a gun or a sword to take the US.

I think the words of Lenin and Stalin about how to defeat the US are very appropriate for insertion here. Lenin first said that the way to defeat a democracy is to keep their currency inflated to the point that their economy falls. Now his boys failed, timewise, but it seems to me that the Islamists are succeeding very famously. I guess it did take some actions by progs in the Congress and the White House to put us in the position we are in reight now but it does look like Lenin was right and some militant Muslims have figured it out.

The pork you reported is just the kind that we don't need to see. Just think, troops that need fuel have to go wanting because they have to build a monument to one of the leftiest of Congress critters.
