I know, I was being sarcastic.

Just as Obama wants to get the health care bill through our throats and cap and trade! Wait till more people will loose their job when that is going to be signed by Obama!
A conservative saying the Govenor has no control over the state?? As someone said in another thread, all roads lead to Obama when it comes to Sanrene even those in Florida.

When did people start reaching for statewide stats. Jobless claims are down nationwide.

Jobless claims down more than expected - Stocks & economy- msnbc.com

I really hate to say this, but if the government wanted another 20 trillion dollars for anything, the sheeple will not be able to stop them. We can scream, and protest, but in the end....we will all assume the position once again.

The 8.9% stuff and things like that were mentioned were prior to the full scope of the problems were known. A few job reports came out between then and the time the Stimulus was passed, as well as the 4th Quarter numbers. Not to mention it takes about 12 months for the job creation aspects of the Stimulus to kick in (this is for any Stimulus) it starts out by reducing the amount of jobs that would have been lost and then creates job.

As far as Florida and Crist is concerned/ I know the original post was meant to be sarcastic, but it is interesting to note Florida went from having an unemployment rate lower than the national average to one higher than the national average.

This is what you want to crow about?

The Labor Department says initial claims for unemployment insurance last week fell 16,000 to a seasonally adjusted level of 461,000. That’s below analysts’ expectations of 475,000.

Instead of nearly half a million new claims, it was almost half a million new claims?

BRAVO!

If it makes you happier, Granholm is worthless too.

So what happened to those trillion borrowed stimulus dollars?

What happened to 8% unemployment?

Hope and change equals tax and spend.

REALITY CHECK

You have no earthly idea what the job situation would be without the stimulus....the job losses could have been double this amount for all you know.

Nobody promised you that Florida would not see job lossess....only that the job losses caused by the economic downturn which started under Bush would be minimized, and the recovery would begin sooner.

It has helped prevent the jobless rate from balloning to 12 or 13% and improvement is improvement. The Dow is up and the economy as a whole is , again, improving. Nobody said it would be perfect overnight. We're not waiting in breadlines or experiencing hyperinflation as many conservatives suggested/hoped for..

actually we were promised that doing this would cause unemployment to not go higher then 8%. We were promised 4 million jobs, 600k jobs during the summer alone.

Not one of those promises has been kept We have spent around 70K to create the small amount of jobs that has been created. 70k to fund a job that pays maybe 30k. We are in the hole 40k
