Funny - the democrats are NOW considering what many in the GOP and elsewhere said before the stimulus was passed. TAX CUTS to business and individuals - this is what they are proposing NOW, after their "idea" has failed.

Until you get people spending, the economy will remain in the tank. And they won't spend if they don't have a job or are insecure about the job they have. They are insecure about the job they have because of obama's massive tax hikes coming down the pike.

Tax cuts my @ss, that's an outright lie from Pelousy. They'll pass a minimal cut to poverty-level earners (which, based on how unemployment is skyrocketing under this administration, will continue to grow), and stick it to taxpayers who actually spend money and stimulate the economy without help from Die Regierung ("The Government").

Remember, the GOP is powerless. This is all on the democrats, their idea, they own it.

I seem to remember the screaming from the right before the stimulus was passed - many, many people said IT WOULD NOT WORK, not enough "stimulus" in their to make a difference.

They went about it the wrong way - instead of putting the stimulus into the hands of those who would spend it directly (consumers), they put it in the hands of bureaucrats.

Denial is so sad.

Oh, so stopping spending is a cure all? Gonna tell us it's the last ten months where this all occurred? Maybe stopping spending on other countries would be a better start?

We have a record of what was said, we have obama's own little chart telling us where the UE rate would be with his stimulus and without, we have him claiming hundreds of thousands of new jobs by summer's end, 3-4 million by end of 2010.

Surely this is a joke post ?

Did the right-wing also make up that chart the President showed to get his stimulus passed ? Or was that all a fake as well ?

That chart was done by Obama's team..not some right-wing fairy tale cartoon factory.

Take it easy on them, things are looking grim for their party they tend to lash out, create enemies lists those sorts of things.

Another example of stories taken blindly out of context. The bill is the annual extension of a provision to ignore the cuts to doctors' payments mandated under a 1997 deficit reduction act that continues to operate. The defeat of the bill means that doctors payments will have to be cut, but the House health care bill includes an offset to those cuts and the vote in the Senate heads off any chance of an amendment to the Senate health care bill being offered from the floor in an attempt to push the bill's cost over the President's stated limit.

Do you really believe the hyperbole that to get out of massive debt, you must spend, spend, spend?

Do you know of any family in debt that has applied that strategy? Any business? Any state? Any time at all where that has worked?
