I doubt that Maine is the only state with such creatures.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was generally considered to be a RINO during his term as California governor - that however was partly due to his idealistic approach to governance - and thinking that the Democrats would actually listen to common sense. He tried - and his negative legacy isn't entirely his fault.

The thread is open and the topic is interesting - and has not been fully explored.

Any reason that I shouldn't post on an old thread?

RINOs - Texas as they have a lot of the country club type Republicans. Kansas as well in Johnson County.

DINOs - Definitely West Virginia where they elect DINOs like Joe Manchin and Earl Ray Tomblin with regularity. Also Arkansas is in the same boat.

Country club Republicans are now considered to be RINOs? Why? Are they too genteel for the base of today's GOP?

Louisiana state capital, home of plenty of RINOs who were once Democratic Party members but switch parties as the voters in their districts became more conservative. Our state was a solid majority Democratic party bastion for about 100 years (local and state government offices). That goes back to the end of the Civil War and how the union army treated the state after the war was over. Since Lincoln was president and a Republican, those bad feelings lasted for about 100 years. Very few actual fiscal conservative Republicans in Louisiana state capital at this time. Wish the FBI and IRS could do a blanket investigation of everyone in elected office and their staff in our state capital (Republican and Democrats both) so I can watch the roaches scurrying from the light. Only one person in the state capital right now did I vote for and I'm voting against him next time.

For complete fools.
Nice, should we then connect the Democratic party with elitest snobs who hate America and our nation's military like in Berkeley, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and other bastions of ultra-liberalism?
