Would that be the same Michael Moore whom, when Hannity reminded him that "you're benefiting from the system you trash" all he could say was "yeah?"

And the same Michael Moore who said to Hannity, "We've been losing jobs since the Reagan administration?" (Over 18 million jobs were created during the Reagan administration.)

Why would you possibly be against this idea? I doubt many people on this forum fall into the category of being very wealthy, so why should you be against the idea?

And if you ARE very wealthy, then you should pay up a little bit more money. Do not be greedy, if you care about America it seems as though you would not mind paying a little bit more of your riches to help the USA prosper.

The rich are ones who can afford it. Low income workers in America are simply unable to take on any more expenses. They are already stretched to the limits financially, and they are already paying quite a lot of taxes. Taxes must come from SOMEWHERE, the rich have gotten lots of new tax breaks over the past few decades. We must start taxing them more once again. Bring it back to where it was at around the 70s and 60s.

So.... why shouldn't the rich be taxed more?
Your dead wrong!
There should be equal tax through out.
The rich put the general public to work!
Tax them more and have them drop benefits
and lay off employees. Perfect option you far left
Obama!

They are already taxed.
The top 50% of wage earners pay 96.03% of income tax; the top 5% pay 53.25%.

Oh please delusianne. Even liberals tacitly admit they're not "two different things" when they use tax incentives to increase productivity of their favorite pet projects like "green energy," tax breaks for hybrid cars, tax breaks for ethanol production, etc. Have you taken even a cursory look at the tax code lately? The whole steaming mess is a giant series of incentives for certain behaviors and disincentives for certain other behaviors. If you tax something more, you get less of it. If you tax something less, you get more of it. Productivity is no different, and no serious economist or government budget office would argue otherwise.

There is almost no argument any more about the validity of the Laffer Curve. The only argument left is what is the optimum rate of taxation to produce the optimum amount of revenue.

I thought we were talking about personal income taxes and personal productivity. "So wait -- on the one hand you acknowledge that people seek to avoid taxation and on the other you believe it has no affect on productivity?"

Businesses that are so heavily taxed they cant survive, well....

I wouldnt say ethanol production is a "liberal" gambit.
