Okay, let's hear it from the wing nuts. Let's hear the argument that crimes against homosexuals shouldn't be regarded as a hate crime. So crimes against individuals for their sexual orientation is not worthy of hate crime status. Again, by wing nuts, I'm not referring to the majority of sane and logical Republicans and conservatives but the vocal minority of extremists in our party.

Since you ask for response from "wing nuts" are we to take that you also are a "wing nut"?

What number of violations to a group or subject must be hit before it becomes a hate crime? I am just wondering as when I was in school, a group of kids beat up a red headed kid calling him carrot cake. Shouldn't his case also contain extra penalties due to its discriminating nature? There are numerous other cases of different groups as well. Goth kids tend to get beat up a bit and so did the role playing kids. Are they to be ignored? Are the crimes against them less important even if the outcome is equally severe?

You are obviously trolling and trying to entice a flame war. There is a difference between opposing the concept of "hate crimes" and finding the idea of violent crimes against anyone repulsive.

Of course wacky liberals like this legislation. It came in attached to a $680-billion measure outlining the Pentagon’s budget, which includes $130 billion for ongoing military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Kucinich voted against it since he thought war was the most offensive hate crime and I agree.

Theses anti-war liberals were never anti-war. They were anti-Republican war. That is why they threw Cindy Sheehan under the bus and could care less about engaging in a war admist a severe economic crisis and with no timeline. But as long as they can get their hate crime legislation against gays passed at the sacrifice of their wishy-washy principles, then they are elated.

What is a wing nut? Do you refer to one in terms of mental stature or that of political reference, or the metal fastener cap for a bolt?

Here is how I am using it:
A wingnut is an individual whose ideology is so far from the center that they have lost their point of reference and as a result, have no idea how far outside of societal norms their views are.
