Fort Worth police planned to announce on Thursday that an internal investigation has cleared officers of excessive force in the controversial raid of a gay bar this summer, and no officers will be fired, said two city leaders briefed on the matter.

The long-awaited 1,000-page report is expected to fault officers for not writing a timely report on the June 28 raid of the Rainbow Lounge, but conclude officers did not use excessive force or violate other operational policies.

I didn't know that was required, but here it is:

1. It's possible that the police are protecting their own.

2. It's possible that the patrons of the bar overreacted to the force used by the police.

An "internal investigation" is never going to judge itself fairly. Like allowing Wall Street to regulate itself you see what happened in the end. If this investigation were serious it would be conducted by a Federal agency or some other cities police.

Gee, the cops said that their raid on a gay bar was legitimate and did not use excessive force! SHOCK that the people behind the raid would say it was ok.

I bet if I asked a rapist how many of his victims 'were asking for it' or 'had it coming' he would say "all of them".

This is not really news.

Check 'unidentifiedmale's post record. Hes not a fan of gays (or nonwhites, or the poor).

I dont think you are going to change his mind. If you ask him, hes probably of the mind that those gay people were hurling themselves at the cops with ak47s and the poor innocent ft worth police were begging them to stay back.

Yes. True. Bias rules at the end of the day.
