The factual information in the column is interesting. Her comments about it is aimed at distorting what the task force is attempting to do.
Serious question - who do you think qualifies as a news reporter these days?

I posted a link to the University and where they have their final papers.

Someone who goes out, gathers information and writes a story based on the facts as s/he finds them. Certainly not someone who writes a column and equates the information she is writing about with Chinese reeducation camps.

It isn't my call that she isn't a reporter. I say that because she isn't. She isn't employed as a reporter; she is employed as an opinion writer. I hope you understand the difference between a reporter and an opinion writer.

The issue with the columnist isn't her facts, it's her spin. She's done the same thing as the insurance companies did with the part in the health care bill that paid doctors for appointments to discuss end-of-life issues: they spun it into "death panels".

Exactly. This is conservative opinion from a woman who opposes gay marriage, atheism, etc. She writes the screeds every week.

Google her name and you can come up with all sorts of her bizzare arguments.

Why is it that any time there's a "cultural task force", they come up with the most ridiculously PC gobbledy-gooked statements?

I liked this reader's comment:

"Now I understand how you elected Franken
Having read the deflections, distractions, name-calling, ad hominem attacks and various flavors of assorted lunacy supporting this insanity, I now fully understand how MN could elect the colossal buttmunch Al Franken.

You people are seriously F'd in the head"

For people who don't like Minnesota and its politics, may I suggest Mississippi, Alabama, or perhaps Louisiana? I think you would find the politcs in those states much more to your liking.

that's what I read and again, it means nothing ... just a bunch of ivory tower overly pc people who have nothing better to do because they don't live in the same world as you and I ... and I'm a flaming liberal saying this, but I still get the source of this .... steaming pile of crap.

The thinking people of minnesota will get this as well ... sigh.

Can't wait for Their Lady of Bachman to get wind of this .

That's because reporters like teachers must be of one political persuasion.

Well, they have something of a point, even though this "policy" is way overboard.

Over the past 25 years, the US economy has been molded into an upside down funnel, pushing resources towards the few at the top.

These days, if you work for a living, you suck.

If your "job" is to lay around the pool, sipping drinks prepared by the domestic staff, waiting for the latest dividends to reach your bank account, then you've got it too rough. You need a taxpayer bailout and some "tax incentives" to maintain your lifestyle.

On the upside, America's investing class has created LOTS of jobs. In Red China.
