Most Thanksgiving food (turkey, stuffing, rutabega, casserole....etc) just does not appeal to me at all. So I'll just have a normal dinner.
Actually I'd have to agree with you, all the traditional fare is not my most favorite. If I was cooking this year I would make roast lamb with mint sauce, baked-not-roast potatoes, cauliflower with cheese sauce, fresh peas, and caramelized carrots. But since someone else is cooking, whatever they make is fine with me.

I'd come for the lamb, but you can keep the mint sauce. I like mint in candy and other sweets, not on meat of any kind.

I'll be cooking for myself this year, so I'll be making something really different than what is usual...maybe tacos or pasta or something else I'm actually capable of cooking .

But that's how I treat Thanksgiving. Maybe watch a parade, definitley watch football. I don't care much about the dinner.

I will be serving dinner at the Senior Citizens Center. Same thing I have done for the last 5 years. Then I will sit around with them and listen to stories from the past, local history and such. Love it.

Never heard of fried creamed corn with bacon ... Do they batter it up and fry it like croquettes????

I'm not sure, someone else is making it. I'll let you know what it's like.

Since you asked, I'll be baking a ham, acorn squash and sweet potatoes. I also picked up some nice olives from the deli for the relish tray. That's the extent of my contribution since my mother and sisters are also cooking. They'll make the stuffing and I, like most of my family, don't normally drink.

Thinking I might do a peach melba too.

How about you?
