I've noticed many people on CD stating that they would like to see Row v. Wade overturned and abortion made illegal or at least strictly controlled. My question is, what do you think would happen in America if abortion was indeed made illegal? Wouldn't there be a great deal of fallout from such a decision? People always discuss how they feel abortion should be made illegal but nobody discusses what would ultimately result from it becoming illegal. What do you envision happening?
Suicide would go up. Child abuse will rise. Abortion will go underground. Babies would be left on doorsteps all over the Country. This would just be the tip of the iceberg if abortion was made ilegal.
More dead or enslaved women and impoverished children would be some of the results.
If abortion were made illegal and enforced in a manner that actually prevented it, then there would have to be a law enforcing the costs of fatherhood on the males involved. A draconian registry of all male DNA could make this work.
Complete enforcement of a “You play, you pay” rule might go a long way toward eliminating abortion so long a really effective fertility control was available. If fertility control was also illegal see my first comment.
Those who could afford it would go overseas while those who could not would turn to back-street abortions using the old-fashioned knitting needle technique and killing a good few women in the process.
What Would Happen In America If Abortion Was Made Illegal?
I believe there are places called Mexico and Canada. And maybe even Bermuda, Bahamas, Jamaica, Cuba, etc, etc, etc
True, and since our healthcare system is one of the worst in the world, women would be better off getting them in places like Cuba. At least that's what Michael Moore tells me.
