You guys are all missing the point. The point is the reason for Islamic terrorism appears not to be poverty but that's what libs have been trying to sell for a long time through the media and the arts. I don't see any bleeding heart documentaries on why we should all feel sorry for bomber doctors and we sure aren't going to see them on this rich terrorist.

Like liberals think with every problem you encounter, the solution to everything is to pump money in and society's ills will all go away.

Well, I would have thought by now Obama would have sent al-qaeda the memo that he's not George Bush and made a date to talk to them. He could have even brought them a set of DVDs as a gift. Of course, if al-qaeda is leaving a big carbon footprint, no dvds for Osama bin Laden until he reduces his carbon emissions. We can't have al-qaeda killing the polar bears.

I am not sure if our gvt planned 9-11 but I would not put it past them to do so and create another bogeyman to scare the people.I agree that they are stripping our rights away but you forgot to mention the growth of gvt.Soon after 9-11 they created the Dept of Homeland Security, some good this new dept has done.

Of course! Because if he was George Bush he would ignore al Qaeda and pursue a personal agenda attempting to remake the world instead

It was a nitrogen based explosive. Those can easily be detected by dogs and/or chemical sniffers at pass through areas that can detect such things.

Explosives - Nitrate esters

As far as this being some insignificant terrorist attempt, I doubt the people aboard this plane thought as much. If those passengers that subdued this charector had the mindset of some in here we might have been reading about 278 dead people for Christmas instead.

Sound familiar? What it sounds like is if you stretch things any more it's gonna be one nasty smack when it breaks and snaps back.

What good is taking out a terrorist organization going to do by itself? All the ingredients still exist for another to just pop right up in its place.

What good is attacking a single country when your enemy is an organization known to operate in over 40 countries?

You cannot successfully fight an unconventional enemy using conventional strategies.

His father, a wealthy Nigerian banker, claims to have warned U.S. officials of his son's "fanatical religious views" six months ago. (end quote)

that would represent a failure by our government to have kept him off that plane, and obama is the acting head of the government. it would be unbelievable that the father would warn us about his own son, and that those warnings would be ignored.

it is ridiculous that americans have to be incredibly inconvenienced when they fly every single time and that this guy got on a plane at all. the government cannot just keep targeting american businesspeople and vacationers as possible "suspects".

they actually need to keep the terrorists off the planes!
The issue of the father's "reports" has been discussed on another thread. He sent some text messages to the US Embassy, apparently in Nigeria. The guy was on the "watch" list. He apparently evaded that somehow. We are just lucky he was a lousy engineer who couldn't make a proper bomb.

Well, the 9/11 terrorists did strike at our economic system and military and government. So they're a little more in tune with far leftists/ liberals than neoconservatives( although admittedly it is often very hard to distinguish the two).
Bush had that ugly freak shoe bomber and now Obama has this crazy. I guess even if we aren't at war with islam, some of islam is at war with us.
