So...Obama probably thought that his administration would have it easier after his healthcare "victory" and with the economy picking up and terrorism practically nonexistant, since you know, it seems as if he forgot about Ft. Hood already.
Well, low and behold, another terrorist attempt, on Christmas day of all days. Just horrible. 2010 is not shaping up to be Obama's year and personally, I think how he handles the terrorism thing will shape whether or not he's a one term president or not.

I think it's pitiful to take an attempted terrorist attack and try to turn it into an Obama bashing thread.

Reason: replaced one word with 'pitiful'

No, he is through already. This and subsequent terrorist attacks are icing on the cake, to keep this Sheister at one term only.

This Administration has made every attempt to water-down the fight against terrorists as if it's just another bump in the road. For example:
1) War on Terror verbiage has been eliminated
2) Terrorist trials to be held in NYC
3) Closing Guantanamo in favor of a domestic prison
4) Refusing to back Iranian protestation of a terrorist-supporting government
5) Dismissing Fort Hood as an unfortunate incident
6) Napolitano saying the "system worked"
7) Calling Flight 253 an "isolated incident"
Taken on the whole, Obama is not shaping up to be a hardball against terrorist operatives.
As the OP stated, Obama's Presidency could indeed hinge on how he handles our biggest threats, especially if the homeland is attacked again.

Please. I'm not bashing Obama. I voted for the man, and I plan to vote for him again in 2012, ONLY if he changes up how things have been going. The truth is that Obama has been called "soft" in terms of counterterrorism policy and this attack and the attack on Ft. Hood will either prove those criticisms right or wrong. It's a big deal. I don't want another Republican in office personally, but how he handles this will imo DIRECTLY determine that.

Really disgusting that you would consider an attempted terrorist attack (and assume subsequent ones) as the "icing on the cake" to get someone you don't like out of office.
I swear there are people on the Right who WANT attacks to happen so they can use it against Obama.

I think if I had more time I could make you go away.

I think the US is in pretty bad shape politically when anyone who is even remotely critical of the policies of the president that they WANTED in office is considered a basher.
I am ALLOWED to disagree with some of the ways that Obama is handling things. He's not infallable. He WILL make mistakes. Every president has.
