What's the deal with all these copycat shootings?
There was Colombine in what was it? 99? and then nothing (major) until recently we had the huge Viginia Tech disaster and now it seems like there is a copycat shooting almost every month?? (of coarse not nearly as major)
Ultimately of coarse a person is responsible for their own actions but I really believe the media is way too much of an enabler. I mean the media has absolutely practically glorified these killers. Where I live we also had an incident in march that killed 5 people but could have been much worse if not for a very corageous police officer and it was just naueseating how much attention he got. Did the victims get that much attention. No. They were maybe on the news for a couple of days but this psycho was on for like a month. Here's a scenario:

A super depressed teenager who thinks his life is totally worthless and has decided to commit suicide the next day is sitting in his basement watching t.v and comes across one of these shootings on the news where the kilhimsler is somewhat glamorized. Hmmmm he thinks to himself why not take a few others down with me and go out with a blaze. He thinks to himself the media is almost making this guy look famous. I may be dead but at least I'll have publicity.
