Rush is a self-hating, know-nothing scumbag. Now that that's out of the way, is there seriously somebody in this thread going to the cast doubt over whether Rahm et al didn't go over the political ramifications of the earthquake reaction with The President?
I smell fake outrage here, just sayin'.
I am very sure that in the White House there was discussion of the political possibilities of this disaster.
Now that I have said that I believe that Obama, finally, did something right.
I seriously doubt that political fall-out from the earthquake was on the radar screen at the White House this week because most people there don't think with their asses.
You are aware that the Homeland Security system that failed was put into practice by the president in 2002. And it's one more thing that Bush booted and Obama will need to fix.
You realize the the MO has been changed since Obama . Do you seriously think Obama changed nothing in the intelligence community. Obama is the president he had control over Homeland security . Obama himself said the buck stopped with him. Do you not believe the president when he sasy that

Well, I drifted off-topic there.......but I can safely assert that between 2000 and 2008, I never heard the words "the buck stops with me" uttered once.
And, as an added bonus, I never once saw the curtains move at the WH during about the last 6 months of the last administration. There was not a peep about anything, whatsoever, during the waning days of a failed term.
Add to that, because the terrorist attempt was a failure, Obama shouldn't have made a comment until he had facts to address. There's no need to gather any more facts on Haiti than that the country was devastated by an earthquake.
Especially when 0bama was afraid he would be held accountable for a systemic failure that allowed the attempted terror attack. Calling an entire police department stupid or rushing to the aid of Haitians was easy and presents no political risk, taking responsibility is tough and has a lot of political risk.
