I'm always perplexed at how wealthy celebrities try to get you to donate to a cause. You'd think that they should be able to fork over their own millions without our help.

If I had millions upon millions of $, I will just go ahead and donate the entire amt I want to raise, instead of asking regular Americans to give what little they have.

There are celebrities that do give quietly and I think that is exactly what they should do. Example: I would never ask a co-worker at the office that I know is having a rough financial time to cough up $ for a fundraiser. I feel it's inconsiderate!

What do you think?

A cause can't be cured by a single doner no matter how much money they have. The celebrities real value comes from making others aware of the cause.

But don't the celebs always know what's best for the rest of us ignorrant, poor, not so beautiful folks? Their hypocrisy is unending, and their heads only continue to get more full! Don't know how to view an issue? Ask a movie star that's never worked a real hard day in their life! Can't decide on the issues? Your favorite musician will point the way! (After they recover from their nightly hangover!) Aren't sure who to vote for? What does your favorite sports star have to say? Is global warming real? Ask Mr....

Some people wouldn't have a clue as to what's going on in the world if they didn't hear it from a singer, dancer or actor.

What can you say?

Meh. There are no shortage of douchebag celebrities who tout causes and political issues (especially when knowing f--k all about the deeper issues behind them), but a lot of celebrities do a lot of good work for charities and raise awareness for the less politically inclined.

I was thinking about this type of thing today. Oprah and Bill Gates have billions. If one of these cough cough compassionate people gave 1 billion to Haiti it would save all the other countrires from spending money they do not have. Neither Oprah or Gates could spend their wealth in their lifetime.

Here's an instance where a great deed by a celebrity WASN'T publicized.

Bill Gates gives away SO much of his money... he is the biggest philanthropist in the world, seriously. He has given away over 6 billion dollars and pledges to give away the rest before he dies. I would guarantee he has probably already given a significant amount to Haiti.

So don't call him a "cough cough" "compassionate" person sarcastically, when in fact he is probably one of the biggest givers to charity the world has ever seen.

I think every person in this country that has over 10 million should be required to give 1 million per year to a needed family. If that family squanders it them that is it you get no more.
