Good deeds don't. Plastic celebrities make me want to vomit.
Unless you are a mindreader, who possesses special powers, you are merely assuming their intentions. Anybody who is donating their time and helping raise money for this human tragedy is good in my book. The difference is that I don't assume I know what people's motives are and then judge them on that.
Don't you think that if you were watching Haiti coverage from say England, China, or Canada that you get the impression that THEY are doing the most giving? Our media naturally covers what Americans are doing and they skim over what others are doing. By the way, China gave the same $100 million that the U.S. did.
Thank you.

Good point, but no issues would really be solved. We've always had resources, but that hasn't helped much has it? We have too many issues separating us, before even getting to the issues themselves.
And at the rate we're going, we're creating more problems than solving any. (it's either by party affiliation, race, religion, general politics, greed, selfishness....need I say more? Me, Me, Me..mentality).

In Haiti everyone who wants to help agree they need food, water and shelter after the search and rescue and medical attention phase.
So right.

Our taxes. You should know that. And they don't have it as bad as people in Haiti right now. There have been plenty of social entitlement programs that prevent these problems in this country. Why they still exist? I don't know, but don't lay guilt trips for those in need elsewhere, when we do have more than enough here to feed the needy.

I admit it - I can only keep up this cold-hearted conservative act for so long. Ugh... I'm a wuss.
Sure send some to him, and let him send it to Haiti. That way you won't feel bad for having a heart or feeling like a wuss. Help a fellow American help Haiti. (I have a solution for everything, almost ).

No, he'd say there's going to be a better earthquake somewhere else soon.

In theory, it should.

Again, more to complain about. No matter how well we do, there's always the crab in the barrel mentality that's killing certain things in this country.

No, just call the DOT. . No telethons needed.

You have a good point, but a bit late for the party (of good judgment).

You can't lie. You do sound jealous, envious and senseless. Had you worded your original post, maybe...just maybe we'd have a pity party for you. Too late for that now.

CNN is reporting that the Hope for Haiti telethon raised a record setting amount of 58 million dollars in 2 hours and they are still counting. Also, the latest death count is up to 150,000.
Some people do believe in the importance of charity in times like this:
"He's no Wyclef Jean or George Clooney, but that hasn't stopped seven-year-old Charlie Simpson from raising more than £120,000 ($195,000) for the Haiti earthquake."

Beauty is what beauty does. And starting at topic called, 'the Hope for Haiti show makes me want to vomit' isn't pretty by any stretch of the imagination.
