KATC.com - Acadiana News, Acadiana Weather, Acadiana Sports | Lafayette Weather, Lafayette News, Lafayette Sports | Rep. Charlie Melancon Says No One Owns "Who Dat?!?"
The NFL claims to own the rights to a cheer slogan, "who dat", and now that the New Orleans Saints are going to the Super Bowl, they've begun threatening small time T-shirt shops for producing and selling shirts with the slogan "who dat", a cheer that goes back at least 50 years ago. While I agree with their, the senator and representative, position, it's not their business as legislatures. This is the relm of the judicial branch. Congress and the President also needs to get back to doing their job and stop trying to regulate College football deciding between BCS bowl games or a play off system. While I agree a play off system would be the most fair way of deciding the champion, it's not the job of the federal government to decide. They should have more important things to do on the job like cutting federal spending, improving national security, etc.
