sorry you couldn't make the party, but probably best. i didn't either, but not because i could afford it.
I guess that because the movement has grown so large, the organizers are not allowed to have fund raisers, in the view of these leftist.
Of course, they never did accept the fact that it is a "grass roots" movement. Started that way with a handful of citizens in a few cities, caught on and grew to what it is today.
We won't mention, of course, all the Soros funded Democrat organizations like MoveOn.org, Daily Kos, Democrat Underground, etc, all made to look as though they are "grass roots". Sure. Right.
Exactly, $550 for some of Sarah Palin's predigested sound bites...that's
reasonable to you huh?
You have that kind of money to toss around and you
expect those of us that are really struggling to feel sorry for you?
To empathize with your cause?
Get real.
Get it together bud, use your head. Events like that cost money. Nobody is getting rich on $550 a head on a 3 day event. It's non-profit anyways and the money is used to support the cause.
And anyone you're backing is going to be asking for just as much if not more. Try looking at Obama's campaign contributions....
But these people are incapable of organizing on their own, they have to be led... and they trust corporate voices, as the corporate voices well know.
Did Obama supporters or acorn supporters have to be led? Both were and are suppose to be grass roots?
Heck Obama paid people to be grass roots for him. Tea party isnt paying people to attend a rally. So which one is really grass roots the one that has paid supporters or the ones that doesnt.
But the event has become mired in controversy, with most of the criticism coming from Tea Party activists who complain that the event's organizers are charging too much and trying to make a profit.
What's more, two prominent conservatives in Congress and heroes of the movement — Reps. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) — withdrew Thursday as speakers at the convention. Neither was to get a speaker's fee, but each said the for-profit nature of the convention raised questions about compliance with Congressional ethics rules.
