Wow.. you jumped from complaining about the fact that they are "for profit" to now "ethics" issues.
Remind me again what compliance issues a private business have to comply with in regards to Congressional ethics rules? You want to list some because as a private business owner, I'm unaware of these Congressional ethics rules I must comply with and you would be very helpful in providing me with a list so I dont violate any laws I'm unaware of..
Read my link. Ms. Bachman and Ms. Blackburn, both of whom I would think are fairly well versed in congressional ethics laws, withdrew as speakers from this Tea Party due to concerns about violating congressional ethics rules. Go ask them.

Yes but withdrawing from being a speaker has absolutely nothing to do with a private business charing $550 a head.. Nothing.
You can pretend they are related, but they arent even if you claim they are. One involves speakers, the other one involves private businesses charging for their services..
Is running an organization in the black (financially speaking, that is) a bad thing?
So who is getting the profit?

I'm not pretending. The link says that. READ IT before you post again. Here's a start, since you didn't read this the previous time I posted it:
"Reps. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) — withdrew Thursday as speakers at the convention. Neither was to get a speaker's fee, but each said the for-profit nature of the convention raised questions about compliance with Congressional ethics rules."
Somehow, I think Ms. Bachman and Blackburn know more than you do about this subject matter. I am absolutely not explaining this again.
Did the original Tea Party Patriots pay $550 a head (!) to Protest?
Probly not, but if they had been caught their heads would have been worthless. $550, a small price to pay for the liberty to whine and moan about how some people exhibit their political interests.

...this 'common folk' movement is really full of.... hot air (to put it mildly)
I thought it was common sense that the owners of companies are the ones who benefit from "profits".. But since you are now objecting to "profits", why dont you object to Obama making "Profits" from $28,500 dinners? I dont have a problem with either, but obviously you only have a problem with profits when it involves the tea party..

I've read it, and read it, but not sure what the relevance in Bachmann/Blackburn not speaking at a convention. Is there a reason I should care that they chose not to speak? There might be issues for elected officials to take part but we arent discussing elected officials, we are discussing the Te Parties and a fee charged to attend. Try to stay focused..
Did you complain when people paid to go to the DNC Convention? Selective outrage with you I guess..
I assume the sponsoring organization, hotels, banquet facilities, bar tenders and possibly some local hookers to name a few.
Who do YOU think is getting the profits?
This guy:
"The main mover behind the event, Nashville attorney Judson Phillips, has been the target of stinging critiques from Tea Party activists who complain about the $549 registration fee. What's more, it's a separate $349 ticket to attend just the Palin speech."
It's going to line his pockets. Payment to hotels, restaurants, etc, are part of the cost of doing business. The profit, after those payments, is the issue. I really think you ought to read the link if you intend to argue this.

I think doc read the link just like I have and probably wondering the same question I have..
