WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The House Ethics Committee announced Thursday it is looking into allegations of possible misconduct by members of Congress regarding The PMA Group, a now-defunct lobbying firm.

PMA, which was raided by the FBI last year, lobbied primarily on behalf of defense-industry clients seeking earmarks. The company and its clients donated campaign contributions to senior members of the House Appropriations Committee, including Rep. John Murtha, D-Pennsylvania, and Rep. Pete Visclosky, D-Indiana

Quite possibly my new Senator will be in that group.

I wonder when that committee will be investigating the need to send 53 Congress critters to the recent Copenhagen waste of time convention. I say this with tongue in cheek since Nasty Nance was the head of that little trip and she doesn't think that spending nearly a million dollars for them to go there is unnecessary and all of them were Democrats. My next Senator is a Republican. How they managed to get Murtha in there is beyond my ken.

And that's about all they will do is look.

Talk about the fox guarding the henhouse in expecting these crooks to police each other.

The story relates to the Ethics committee of the House of Representatives - NOT the Senate

They do do a good job on the opposition, though. It is always the minority that gets looked at seriously.

Didn't botox Nancy promise and ethical Congress and promis to sick the ethics committee on the first sign of inappropriate conduct? When is Barney Frank going to have his feet held to the fire?

The ethics committee could have a hayday with any number of our elected officials. Sadly, nothing much ever comes from any of it. They are held to a much lower standard.

whatyousay ! ...

Just once I would love to see an honest investigation with some genuine authority go after these pernicious rogues !

The majority of the Washington "Career Politician Goof Troop" continues to thumb their noses at the hard working tax payers of this nation !

There truly appears to be no end in sight for the unprecedented level of arrogance displayed by so many of America's elected Represenatives !

The American People are truly taking one hell of a whipping at the hands of these reprobates whom could care less about the jobs they were elected to do !

Thanks / Lamar
