"In a statement, Senator Harry Reid said, "That while the President is correct that people saving for college need to be fiscally responsible, the President needs to lay off Las Vegas and stop making it the poster child for where people shouldn't be spending their money."

Maybe Las Vegas needs to lay off building their economy around relieving the suckers of all the cash they have.

The man-child just has to have a target to attack for his rhetoric.

http://www.ktnv.com/Global/story.asp?S=11922695 (broken link)

Quote:
“He didn’t learn his lesson the first time, but when he hurt our economy by his ill conceived rhetoric, we didn’t think it would happen again, but now that it has I want to assure you, when he comes I’ll do everything I can to give him the boot back to Washington and to visit his failures back there.

“I gotta tell you this, everybody says I shouldn’t say it, but I gotta tell you the way it is. This president is a real slow learner.”
I like this one;

http://www.lasvegasnow.com/Global/story.asp?S=11922251

Quote:
In a statement issued by Governor Gibbons he said he was stunned that President Obama was so thoughtless and heartless with his recent remarks about Las Vegas. Governor Gibbons said, “Doesn’t President Obama know that thousands of families in Las Vegas are suffering because of his failed economic policies?

I find it difficult to respect the city of Las Vegas, Nevada in any way shape or form. This city institutionalized the mob in the form of hotel owners and casino operators that provide all the booze, hookers and drugs their customers require to stay happy while being fleeced. This may be good financing for the city and the mob but it is reprehensible and unrespectable.

Las Vegas families are suffering from a failed entertainment economy and a disasterous housing bubble.

What are you people thinking criticizing the chosen one? I don't think you really understand what he is telling you.

He says that *businesses* should not spend their money there. But that does not mean government officials can't spend our (oops, I mean "their) money there.

And don't worry, Las Vegas, the number of government employees is set to increase so you should see more customers using your hotels, casinos, restaurants, etc... real soon.

I see the "offenderati" are at it again. Yelling "I'm offended" every half hour sort of dilutes the effectiveness of your message. Give it a rest already.

I think Obama is the head of the Harry Reid re-election campaign. Good job, there Bammer. We needed a republican senator in place of Reid.

On explanation could be that Obama is trying to shame the trade show business back to his pals in Chicago.
The corrupt entity and unions that run the shows, have been driving them out of town left and right.

How can someone who could not handle his own personal finances well tell us how to handle ours?

He said he was going to run this government on a budget, well guess that was just a lie.

He has room to talk, he is a man who spent 300,000 tax payers dollars to eat a steak dinner.

How about those 20 parking tickets he did not pay for almost 20 years?
He owed the money but refused to pay.

He owed student loans years after he made millions of dollars on one of his books. Hardly a financial whiz or maybe he was going to stick them with the money like he tried with his parking tickets.

So what is Obama trying to say here? Why is he pointing out Vegas?

This man is purposely destroying the financial aspects of this country.
