Bill Gtaes could carelesss about waht othwers pay intaxes. He afterall has started a foundation to control his money like so many other rich people. It bascailly aloows them instead of the government to control their money and pay no taxes. if he wants to employ relative for example he can ;all on a non-tax paying foundation. Some do good work but some empoy realtives at a high salary and pay no taxes.

No it's not. There could be multitude of reasons why people move.

Only because it jives with your ideology do you latch on to the tax excuse.

Bill Gates loves competition from small business. Think about it.
Lot's of monopolies endorse socialism and the taxes and regulations to go with it that make it impossible for the little guy to survive. Did you ever for a moment stop to consider why?

Tax Increases Don't Drive Out The Rich
LoL. The author of the article obviously is not a businessman nor does he create wealth, employ people work or is responsible to shareholders for ROI.

The gov't doesnt create wealth, capitalists do. If I get more bang from my buck in the state next store, I'm moving the operation - I vote with my feet.

I paid a $10 recycling fee over the holidays for a $80 purchase, on top of 9% tax. I will NEVER buy electronics in CA again.

Trust me, tax increases influences my spending behavior and businessmen. For example, Limbaugh rarely operates out of NYC anymore because of tax rates.

I know people that travel from Ohio to PA just to do their clothes shopping because PA does not tax clothing and Ohio does..

Anyone who proclaims taxes doenst influence a buying or moving decision would have to explain to me why Nevada holds one of the highest ratio of new business filings if its not for their tax exempt status..

I dont believe anyone has proclaimed Taxes to be the ONLY reason, but indeed Taxes is ONE of the various reasons for moving.

At the very least, cost of living, which very much adjusted/offset by taxable rates..

About six years of Philly blood in these here veins - We'd travel to Delaware were there's no sale tax to buy our stuff.

Much higher than where? Here's some info on each state's overall tax burden:

Taxes by State

This page:

Taxes by State

...has a pdf file that ranks the state-local tax burden for each state:

http://www.retirementliving.com/tax_burden_2008.pdf (broken link)

It ranks Nevada at 49 compared to other state with a state-local tax burden of 6.6% (U.S. average is 9.7%). In terms of income per capita, it's ranked 7th with an income of $49,371 (U.S. average is $44,254).

Well if its Tennessee or Florida, its probably got to do with "getting away from it all" or "sunshine state" fever.

If its Alaska, it could be getting away, and back to nature, but I'd bet its for taxes.

Which one is right?
