"What once looked like more possible Republican seat losses due to retirements and open seats now looks like a very good year for the GOP.

"Picking up ten seats and the majority is almost certainly out of reach for Republicans, although, with a few more strong recruits and some breaks, what recently seemed an impossible dream has become a remote possibility."

We would need 41 seats in the house for the majority.

My grievance about the bent of this article is a grievance I have of all parties. Instead of answering the challenge of inferior candidates by offering better candidates, the fixation of party ideology supremacy runs rough shod over the core issues. America suffers horribly from smear campaigns and Machiavellian attitudes. That's the sickness that got us here.
All parties: Do NOT come empty handed. Elected office is NOT self servitude or party loyalty. Your loyalty belongs with constituency, the principles of serving the greater good, and above all, upholding the constitution. America has gone starving for a better plan to prevail, so please stop insulting our collective intelligence with smarmy schemes and theatrics. Committing yourself with shady motives will result in more stuck on stupid; winning pointless battles and losing the war (American sovereignty).

It appears to me that this article is saying that the GOP has a pretty good chance at retaking the Senate in November. I feel that they have a great chance depending on what kind of political games are being played at times like the coming meeting Obama says he wants with GOP leaders. They may well screw themselves out of what they have coming by letting him play one of his games with them.

Yeah, and if they retake Congress and things don't start to get better, people will turn to blaming the Republicans for all the world's troubles again. The cycle continues until we find some real people who don't toe the party line.

Watch carefully what the congress tries to accomplish in haste prior to the elections. With nothing to lose, and possibly much to gain after leaving elected office they can provide their replacements with a much worse crisis needing to be solved.
