I also have got out of bed at two in the morning and driven ten miles for a pack, I have dug through ashtrays looking for butts with a little life left in them, and I have dug in the back of the sofa ond in my kids toy box looking for pennies when my kids were little looking for loose change so that I could get a pack and satisfy the gnawing craving.

Good luck.

As I said, whatever it takes to satisfy the craving...

I am not disagreeing with you however, I think we should focus more on the politicans and fat cats who have almost brought this country to its knees and THEN focus on who we should tax.

All should be held accountable, starting from the top down not the other way around.

I am sorry that you were a degenerate.

I however have not sunk to your level even when going up to four days without smoking.

Its going to make it more and more worth it to take a weekend trip to a neighboring state and load up on cigs. Iowa raised the tax $1 a few years ago, making it almost $2 cheaper/pack to run down to Missouri.

When you get back you can sell them to coworkers/friends/family who smoke and probably pay for your trip.

We need to elect some politicians that can cut spending instead of ones who dream up new ways of generating revenue. Way to go Democrats

Libs, it's really a valid point. If they eventually make cigarettes illegal, or make them too expensive, they'll need to make up the lost revenue. What that you like will be heavily taxed?

I've wondered about liberal logic, but in places where they ban indoor smoking, like California, they make exceptions for smoking pot indoors. Given the cancer causing agent is tar, not nicotine, and you have tar from burning ANYTHING, how can you justify the distinction except out of animosity towards cigarette smokers? Is animosity a rational basis for a distinction for due process purposes? I don't think so if I recall my constitutional law class.

You haven't been smoking long enough yet, then.

Nicotine addiction is progressive. The longer you smoke, the more often you will have to feed the addicition to maintain the level in your system.

when we are addicted we will go to any length to find our fix. so yes many smokers will not have any problem buying from the black market. when a smoker says I enjoy smoking it is the addiction talking. your junkie thinking has convinced your rational brain this is the case. to give it up for a few days, a few weeks is one thing but until you get past the mental addiction you are still addicted. the physical effects from the nicotine may leave your body in short order but the mental addiction does not and can be far worse to combat than the physical, taking months and months to get over. which is why so many people give up trying to quit. some people do have severe body reaction to withdrawal like the DT's terrible headaches and the shakes I was unable to quit without the use of patches because of the terrible headaches and other things I experienced when I tried going cold turkey. the addiction to nicotine does rank up there in terms of trying to quit it with the hard drugs. I would challenge any smoker to quit for 6 months and tell me it was easy.

The day I steal from my child is the day I would quit.

I am sorry that you were so completely pathetic. But I'm here for you. I am willing to listen to all the derelict things you have done in the past.

I mentioned before that coffee is addictive. It contains caffeine and it causes withdrawal symptoms when it is no longer ingested. Will coffee drinkers "go to any length to find [their] fix"?

And for the record. I enjoy countless things that I wouldn't go six months without if I had any say about it. Meat, orgasms, television, going outside, caffeine (another one of my junkie habits), weekends, books, contact with friends and family, etc.

Damn, I must have more addictions than I previously thought. It seems that the desire for leisure and pleasure is completely driving my life. I only wish I could become so completely joyless that insulting people while claiming to help them is the only thing that makes me less miserable. S--t! That might turn into an addiction too...
