I thought by my post, it was obvious I reside in a different country, but ok, to clarify: Obama is about as much of a Socialist as the right wing, in the country I reside. On many issues he's further right.

He didn't just hang with them, in his own words, he sought them out. Those are not your average good hearted people.
Is there a reason why you only use his middle and last name?

I only President Obama was a socialist or even a progressive. Unfortunately he appears to be another corporatist placing business over people.

The RW loonies won't be satisfied until they appoint a KING instead of elect a President. Only then will they be certain the needs of the financial aristocracy will be satisfied and the rest of us not be considered.

BTW, he is not an ideologue either, I heard him say that too. If 0bama says something, he means it... at least for the few seconds before and after he says it, or until he speaks on the same subject and makes a completely contradictory statement.

Or until he loses his teleprompter and actually has to say something that was not scripted and planned in advance.

I apparently missed that you are from a different country - may I ask which? It would help us understand your comparison better, although we may not really have an idea of your country's politics.

We can label him anything we want but the reality is this.
The Obama plan is more government, more regulation of which is coming because of the practices of big government. Big government can come in many faces socialist or facist and or just because you believe in solving issues with the resources that government steals from the working people. They want more back door deals, bailouts of wall street, banks who got in bed with government for the sake of greed and power. The ideology of irresponsibility that government creates with the pressure and lobbying of business ending the free market many years ago. There is nothing free about this market and hasn't been free from government and corruption in congress. We have bubbles at the expense of our national debt and the banks print money and the govenrment makes us pay for it in taxes. If want to know who creates the bubbles look no further then washington. If you give banks the ability to give anyone a loan because the government says we want everyone to own a home you get the housing crisis. The government backed the loans that failed and had to bailout the banks because of governments mistakes. Free markets would never let people unequalified with no JOB to get a house. Because of Government and its wisdow and POLICY caused this mess. Yet for some reason business is blamed in a system of which only made sense to use if the government is going to pay for it. They breed the problems, business uses the system and somehow government who created the system blames "capitalism" Government has no business in housing, the economy and "creating jobs" It is becuase they believe they do, they are powerful and believe they can run everything is the problem with the "PLAN" of Obama. They wont tell you want to run it they just make it so you have to go to them and or they create programs so you will become dependent on them.
The only label for government and Obama and for the most part the last 70 years have been criminal.
Central Power in washington has been the end of many free ideas, concepts and personal responsiblity.
WE have no reason to think Obama is socialist he is just another person in government trying to run our lives, our incomes, our choices and bailing out those who make the bad choices.
The concept that says we want to help business by having them be green, regulate banks etc is nothing more then a LIE. If it will help the business it will come in the form of tax breaks, pushing cheap labor and global expanison. It will come via regulation and who ever lobbys harder for your tax dollars will be the governments example of "free markets"
They will tax us to change the market to a system built on government direction and make it seem like business created the jobs with some help of government money. YOUR MONEY!

You go ahead and keep believing that just because people want to be in control of a government that controls every aspect of your life, means they are only doing it because they are concerned for your welfare. I'm sure Hitler, Castro, Stalin and Mao all were "concerned about the welfare of others less fortunate than themselves". <hug>

That's ok, I'm Norwegian, though I'd say he's by no means a Socialist, by Scandinavian (Norway, Sweden and Denmark), British, French or German standard.

I can possibly agree with you then - when seen from that viewpoint. My viewpoint comes from a different place though...from one in living in the U.S. all my life. I presently do not think he is a communist - I believe we would agree there.
