Same as last reconcillation attempt..a Dem, a Dem and a Dem ?
pretty much...the problem is that many of them fear that they will lose their seat for it. Can't blame the opposition for the passing of a bill that not one of them is willing to vote for...
What I would like to understand is if the majority of Americans really believe in this bill and the direction it takes healthcare, as the majority leadership would have us believe, then why aren't their constituents raising hell about how long it is taking for them to reconcile the bill when they have the means to do so?
Speaking of states involvement, how is the fed going to "mandate" that each state revise their insurance laws to accept new clients from another state?
And the Democrats want government heavily involved in Health Care, basically running the whole thing.
Well if the conservatives continue to argue the canard that the Democrats want to "basically run the whole thing", even after 6 hours of convincing argument to the contrary, compromise will indeed be impossible.

The socialist Democrats are trying to debate the question of how much the government should take over health care. The conservative Republicans (there are some there, somewhere) are trying to debate whether the govt should take over any of it at all. If the Republicans even allow that the Democrats' question is "debatable", the Republicans automatically have lost.
What compromise is even possible?
If the republicans aren't willing to compromise, as your paragraph above clearly suggests, then you are right, no compromise can be made. That's why I think the dems are rethinking their 'bipartisan' strategy.
The republicans are in the minority; so sorry to repubs if they don't get everything they want. Since they aren't willing to compromise, they're likely to not get anything they want.

What can these "discussions" be, other than another Democrat smoke-and-mirrors diversion where majority Democrats try once again, to ram their government-uber-alles proposals down the throats of an American citizenry that has repeatedly insisted they don't want them?
You say this as if all (or at least more than half) of Americans feel this way. Proof?
Health Care Reform was proposed by Harry truman in 1948.
And resoundingly rejected.

I think the time for negotiation is over
I fully agree. Just kill the Socialist Democrats' bills and start over.
